NYLT - 2010
Call all Boy Scouts and Venturers that are at least First Class/Bronze Rank! If you are ready for the experience of a lifetime, then join us for an action-packed extra week at Camp Cherokee by enrolling in the 2010 National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) course. This is a volunteer-run, week-long, fast paced leadership course for both male and female registered youth, focused on problem solving, first aid, and camping skills. The skills learned are designed for you to bring back to your Troop or Crew and put into practice. Every Scout that maintains a leadership position should attend this training.
The 2010 NYLT course will be held at Camp Currier at Kia Kima Scout Reservation from July 4-10, 2010. For more information, contact our course director, Bob Christianson at bob.christianson@conwoodco.com.

Camp Chair - Advice from Mr. Cofer
Scouts, you will need to bring a campsite chair for your personal use at Jamboree. I briefly showed off the one I took to the World Jamboree in 2007 at our Shakedown Training weekend and several of you have asked for more information, so here it is!
I often use an online company called Campmor which many Scouts and Scouters also use. They are Scout-friendly and will discount up to 10% if you tell them this is for a Scout activity.
What I like about this chair is that it will fit in my large duffel, it is light to carry, and it doesn't take up much room in my tent. I haven't decided yet whether or not to take this one to our Jambo, but I wanted to mention it as an option.
